Crosswalk of Learner Agency Across the Stages

Crosswalk of the Elements of Learner Agency across the Stages of Personalized Learning Environments (PLE)

The seven elements contribute to learner agency: voice, choice, engagement, motivation, ownership, purpose, and self-efficacy. We arrived at these elements to define the journey learners of all ages can go through to develop agency. Each element is a process defined along a continuum to guide teachers and learners as they move from teacher-centered to learner-centered to learner-driven environments, the Stages of Personalized Learning Environments (PLE).

We provided the continuums of the seven elements of learner agency to help you visualize the process to guide learners to become self-directed, independent learners with agency. These continuums can be located in How to Personalize Learning and on the Personalize Learning, LLC website. The continuums will be cross-posted here soon.
